Phillip A. Washington was appointed CEO of Denver International Airport (DEN) by Mayor Michael Hancock and confirmed by the Denver City Council on July 12, 2021. Under his leadership, DEN, the world’s 3rd busiest airport in 2022, contributes $36.4 billion annually to the economy and supports 37,000 jobs. Phil initiated Vision 100, aiming to serve 100 million passengers by 2030, a 30% increase. He manages a $10 billion Capital Improvement Program, leading major expansions, including 39 new gates and early planning for a 7th runway and a large rental car facility. He’s committed to sustainability, completing safety training, and fostering a culture of safety and equity, including the development of a unique “Center of Equity & Excellence in Aviation” for youth career development.
