Director, Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT)
Bradley C. Wieferich, P.E., brings 27 years of dedicated service to the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT), where he currently serves as Director. With a wealth of experience, he has held various pivotal roles, including Chief Operations Officer, Chief Engineer, Director for the Bureau of Development, Engineer of Design, and Manager of the Marshall Transportation Service Center. His career spans multiple MDOT regions and a central office position as a road design engineer. Prior to joining MDOT, he worked as a field engineer for a consulting firm in the greater Chicago area.
In addition to his role at MDOT, Wieferich is a recognized national leader, contributing to the American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials’ (AASHTO) Board of Directors and Council on Highways and Streets. He represents MDOT on the State Transportation Innovation Council and the Council on Future Mobility and Electrification. Furthermore, he serves as AASHTO’s liaison to the Transportation Association of Canada Chief Engineers’ Panel and co-leads the Michigan Liaison Committee for the Gordie Howe International Bridge project.
Bradley Wieferich is a proud graduate of Michigan State University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering in 1992.
